The latest volume of Old Aberdare is now available for sale at the Cynon Valley Museum. Volume 11 has been produced by Cynon Valley History Society commemorating the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the society, founded in 1971 and is essential reading for anyone interested in the history of the Cynon Valley.
This edition covers a range of themes from local cultural figures and organisations including articles on Reuben Silverman Cartoonist of Aberdare, and the Little Theatre Aberdare to works exploring Trade Unionism in an account of John Ewington and an insight into what Aberdare may have looked like if plans laid out in 1957 to redevelop Aberdare had ever come to fruition.
