History Exhibition: The Life of Caradog

A History Exhibition by Cynon Valley Museum

This July Cynon Valley Museum will be hosting a FREE history exhibition ‘The Life of Caradog’ celebrating the life and achievements of Griffith Rees Jones (1834 – 1897), 150 years after the Y Cor Mawr victory at Crystal Palace Competition, 1872 – 73.

The Welsh conductor, who became known as ‘Caradog’, achieved great successes, and became nationally and internationally renowned. Caradog’s legacy can still be felt to this date and as such Wales is still regarded as “The Land of Song”

This exhibition has been produced by the staff and volunteers of Cynon Valley Museum. It will be available in English and Welsh. There will be objects on display from the museum collection relating to Caradog and The South Wales Choral Union.
