Museum and Room Hire

Close to the centre of Aberdare and public transport routes, Cynon Valley Museum is the ideal location for meetings, classes, activities, one-off events, and more. Set in the beautiful industrial museum building the Museum has 2 dedicated spaces (Parry Room and The Library) for hire, for larger events look no further than taking over galleries or the entire museum space itself.

All rooms come with a projector and room-specific Wi-Fi. There is optional access to a flipchart.  We offer basic refreshments or can advise you on a catering company.

The ideal space for large meetings, courses, and exercise classes. The Parry Room’s unique industrial look is that perfect unique place for that meeting, class, or celebration. The Parry room sits at one end of the museum away from the busy areas of the museum, with doors out onto the Mezzanine Galley this is the perfect space for reflection and gives you the privacy you may need.

The Library offers up-to-date features in a recently upgraded and refurbished room, designed specifically for meetings and small groups. The room comes with a built-in projector, free private Wi-Fi, and access to the museum’s library. This room is enclosed and offers a private space for confidential conversations and separation from the outside world.

Only a corridor away from the Parry room, the Library makes a valuable addition to booking the Parry room. It is an ideal space for break-out sessions or could be the cloakroom, or lunch and refreshment room for your booking.

The Lower Gallery**

Hire our large downstairs gallery and museum atrium, the ideal space to celebrate that special occasion perfectly. With access to our fantastic on-site catering, the gallery and atrium offers a unique and inspirational place to celebrate.

Evenings only: £25/hour

** subject to negotiation with the current exhibiting artist. Some exhibitions mean we are unable to host events

The Mezzanine Gallery

Looking for the perfect venue for that large event you are planning? The Museum is a different and unique venue to host open days, celebrations, or corporate events. With a range of rooms including two art galleries and two break out spaces the museum has the multiple spaces you may need, with onsite catering providing the refreshments you need on the day to succeed.

If you are looking to hold a public event, the museum is the ideal venue. We are an established venue in Rhondda Cynon Taf, and a centre of the community. Open to the public throughout the week, we already have established footfall for your event. By holding your event at the musuem, you don’t just get the venue, you get access to the museums marketing, including social media and leaflet stand alongside the staffs invaluable local knowledge. We can support you to reach out to the right people and connect with local stakeholders who can make your event the success you know it can be.
