This talk is designed to show how the book The Cwm – A Lost Community was put together. It will pinpoint the location of the Cwm and by using various information found during research try to take the viewer on a trip to convey the history, development, life and final end of the small community of 17 houses built on the land of Cwm Farm in the valley of the River Dare.
Rob Jones
Rob Jones was born in Trecynon and educated at Aberdare Boys’ Grammar School and Glamorgan College of Education Barry. He taught at Mountain Ash Comprehensive school for 14 years and at Carnetown Primary School for 20.
He has always had an interest in History and in 2010 wrote a book celebrating the Centenary of Carnetown School. He is a member of the Cynon Valley History Society and has given talks on Trecynon, Abercynon, The Robertstown Tramroad Bridge and on Family History.The Cwm – A Lost Community
