International Brigades Cymru Exhibition & Memorial Talk (Thurs 12th December 7-8.30pm) at Cynon Valley Museum
Cynon Valley Museum are proud to be displaying the IB Cymru (International Brigade Wales) Exhibition here in our Mezzanine Gallery this December & next January.
We are hosting a special talk to commemorate the Welshmen and women who went to Spain to serve the Republic during the Spanish Civil War (July 1936- April 1939). Thursday 12th December, 7-8.30pm, Cynon Valley Museum. Donations welcome (recommended £2).
IB Cymru is the creation of Mary Greening, whose father, Aberdare-born miner Edwin, was one of more than 200 Welsh people who joined the I5th International Brigade in the fight against Franco.
Almost 90 years after these tumultuous events, be sure to visit this free exhibition to learn more about these heroic individuals and their struggle for a better world.
